About the mission in Venkatapuram,Wazeedu mandals MULUGU District, Telangana Being touched by the pains and sufferings of the vulnerable Tribal people to poverty, hunger and exploitation, Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus initiated the developmental project called CAFED (Caussanel Foundation for Education and Development) in the year 2002. CAFED is one of the Developmental interventions in the tribal belt of the state of Telangana. In response to the need of the area, a field office is established at Venkatapuram to coordinate the activities being undertaken. Having made its presence in the area, it undertook a study in two manuals namely, Wazeedu, and Venkatapuram. This region lies on the borders of the states of Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The region is predominantly populated by tribal who are most absolutely deprived and destitute of all Indians.

The Vision


To build up a Society where there is no inequality, poverty, illiteracy, and exploitation in the tribal areas.

The Mission


To promote sustainable livelihood in the lives of tribes leading to an improved level of subsistence and accompanying a low profile social, political, economic, and cultural empowerment process.

Founder of CAFED, Venkatapuram

Rev. Bro. Augustine K. Raj SHJ the previous provincial superior of Angelo Province had initiated the CAFED institution at Venkatapuram as social work centre to support and give support to the local tribal and dalith communities according to the need of the context. As a pioneer of the institution Rev. Bro. Lourdu Raju D.Joy SHJ started the mission centre at Venkatapuram. Present Bro. K. Lourdu Raju has been taken mission centre from 2021 onwards with the support of the other brothers as assisting to this mission work.
